Congrats! You Discovered Sunken Ghost Town

On July 18, 1942 the Community of Willow Grove had their last picnic because the government bought the land and began demolishing homes and other buildings. They forced people to move. Soon after the Dale Hollow Dam was created, and flooding by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) began in 1943. The dam is named after the Dale Family that owned the land where the dam now stands.
