Confederate General Braxton Bragg built his defense in Middle Tennessee. To disrupt the Federal communication supply lines, in 1862 General Bragg ordered General John Hunt Morgan to attack the railroads for Louisville and Nashville, and once again in 1863. General John Hunt Morgan took his cavalry to raid Kentucky from Alexandria
